3. Job Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to:

Teach:
-
Deliver undergraduate courses in Second Language French Didactics
-
Teach graduate-level courses in language didactics
-
An interest or ability to teach related subjects (interpreting, terminology, translation technology, post-editing) is an asset.

Supervise and Mentor:
-
Supervise graduate students and oversee the direction of essays, theses, and dissertations.
-

Research:
-
Conduct research in the field of Second Language French Didactics.
-

Administrative Involvement:
-
Contribute to the management of language didactics programs across all academic cycles.
-
Participate in departmental, faculty, and university activities.
-
4. Candidate Profile
Selection Criteria:
-
Completed (or near completion) PhD in Language Didactics or a specialization in language didactics.
-
Research experience with a record of recent publications in second language didactics published in peer-reviewed journals and/or professional publications.
-
Ability to establish a research program upon starting.
-
Experience in teaching a second language at the primary, secondary, or adult level, as well as university teaching.
-
Service experience in the academic community and demonstrated capacity for innovation, collaboration, and teamwork.
-
Advanced proficiency in French (spoken and written) and professional proficiency in English.
Assets:

Expertise in research in one or more of the following areas:
-
Teaching and learning with younger learners (ILSS program)
-
Early literacy development in a second language
-
Socio-affective factors influencing second language acquisition
-
Teaching of content subjects in French as a second language
-

Demonstrated commitment to fostering reflective and critical capacities among pre-service and in-service teachers.
