The University of Northern British Columbia invites applications for a Term position in the Department of English at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a proposed starting date of July 1, 2020. As an institution committed to the fostering of an inclusive and transformative learning environment, UNBC values high quality and growth in both teaching and scholarship.

The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching lower-division and upper-division courses for the department. These may include the following a writing and communication skills course, an introductory literature or film course, as well as third of fourth-year courses in areas such as fantastic literature, children’s literature, Victorian literature or postcolonial literature.

Applicants for this position should hold a Ph.D. in English (or related discipline) and have evidence of a record and commitment towards teaching excellence.
