The University of Northern British Columbia invites applications for Term position in the Anthropology Department at the rank of Assistant Professor, with proposed starting date of July 1, 2020. The UNBC Department of Anthropology offers undergraduate degrees in preparation for careers in both the public and private sectors. We provide a four-field approach to the discipline, and offer field schools in both ethnography and archaeology. The Department seeks application for a one-year term appointment to teach Socio-Cultural Anthropology. The successful candidate may be required to teach courses such as an introductory course in Socio-Cultural Anthropology, an anthropological theory course, and a methods course, as well as courses suited to the research specializations of the successful candidate. Experience and willingness to teach courses using delivery will be considered an asset.

Applicants for this position should preferably hold a Ph.D. or be ABD and have a growing record of scholarly activity, as well as present evidence of a record and commitment towards teaching excellence. As this is a teaching position, applicants are advised to present evidence for excellence in teaching in their application. A collegial and collaborative approach to work in the department, such as in teaching and service, is essential.
