At TU Dresden the Biotechnology Center (BIOTEC), an Institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB), offers a position in the Research Group “Genetic Engineering of Stem Cells” of Prof. Dr. Konstantinos Anastassiadis as a

Research Associate / Postdoc

(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible. The position is limited until May 31, 2023, with the option for extension subject to resources being available. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification.

Tasks: The project aims to elucidate the role of histone methyltransferases MLL3-MLL4 and histone demethylases UTX/UTY in mouse hematopoiesis using conditional mutagenesis. An additional aim is to unravel the epigenetic functions of the MLL3-MLL4-UTX methyltransferase/demethylase complex members in mouse embryonic stem cells and during differentiation to neural and mesodermal derivatives.

Requirements: The candidate should have a University and PhD degree, preferably in the subject Biotechnology with the focus on Genomics. We are looking for a motivated scientist with experience in cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry. Expertise in mouse embryonic development and epigenetics is advantageous.
