Position Description

The Haskayne School of Business is seeking qualified candidates to fill an open-rank position in Accounting. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor (with tenure), or Professor (with tenure). The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, or taxation, engage in high impact research, submit scholarly works to high quality journals, and provide service to the university and within the profession. Anticipated starting date is July 1, 2020 with the option to negotiate a January 1, 2021 starting date.

Applicants at the Assistant Professor rank (tenure-track) must have completed a PhD degree in Accounting or closely related area, or must be close to completion by July 1st, 2020. They must also have some teaching experience and a research program.

Applicants at the Associate Professor rank (tenure-track or tenured) must have a PhD and a minimum of five years of experience in an academic position in accounting. They must show evidence of effective teaching in a university and an excellent scholarship that includes papers in top-tier accounting or related fields journals.

Applicants at the Full Professor rank (tenured) must have a PhD and a minimum of 12 years of experience in an academic position in accounting. They must provide evidence of excellent scholarship that includes publications in top-tier accounting or closely related fields journals. PhD students’ supervision would be an asset.
