The team “Immmunity in Health and Disease” is investigating how B cells are involved in autoimmune diseases with a special interest in their regulatory activity (Nature Immunology 2002, Immunity 2010, J Exp Med 2012, Nature 2014, Immunity 2018). We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to join our dynamic team for this project.
The project will seek to identify the molecular mechanisms underpinning the differentiation of B cells into pure and stable regulatory cells with therapeutic functions in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases targeting the brain, the intestine, and the bones. The project will involve state-of-the-art molecular approaches (scRNAseq, ATACseq, proteomics, CRISPR-Cas9, microscopy) on mouse and human cells as well as in vivo disease models. The project will involve close collaborations with groups working in the field of artificial intelligence, who have key expertise in the reconstruction of gene networks controlling the differentiation and stability of cell states, as well as with organic chemists. It will also involve a collaboration with the company KALSIOM with whom we have launched a collaborative effort to develop novel approaches to therapeutically target B cells in autoimmune diseases.
INEM is a biomedical research center including 19 teams and two departments: “Cell Biology (Growth and Signaling)” and “Immunology, Infectiology, and Haematology”. Together with the IMAGINE institute and the Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades, it makes up the Necker campus which, supported by state-of-the-art core facilities, provides a vibrant environment for basic research and translational innovation. The Campus has a long-standing reputation for scientific excellence (8 principal investigators (PIs) at INEM received ERC awards) and key pioneering medical contributions (e.g. transplantation, biotherapy, gene therapy).
The position is open, and for one year. Salary will be according to experience following INSERM regulation.
