Requirement: highly motivated candidates with PhD or MD/PhD degree in the fields of molecular genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, neuroscience, or other related areas
Projects: Work on NIH supported projects under the supervision of Dr. Yong-hui Jiang, a physician scientist active in basic/translational and clinical practice to 1) study the molecular and circuit mechanisms underlying autism using mouse models including Shank3, Shank2, and new autism mouse models using cutting edge new techniques (PMID: 27161151; PMID: 23583105); 2) develop novel treatments including gene therapy, small molecule, and CRISPR epigenome editing approach for Prader-Willi and Angelman syndrome and autism using IPSC/organoids and mouse model(PMID: 28024084. PMID: 31353046); 3) understand molecular genetics and neuroepigenetic mechanisms underlying the genomic imprinting disorders of Prader-Will and Angelman syndrome; 4); study the role of epigenetics in brain function and neurodevelopmental disorders in human and in mouse models (PMID: 30691368; PMID: 30518695).
Experience and skills in molecular genetics and epigenetics, genomics, CRISPR/Cas9, IPSC and brain organoids, behavior and in vivo physiology and circuit analysis in mouse models are preferred
