Faculty and Post-doctoral Positions In Women and Children’s Health Research

Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center is one of the biggest medical centers in Pediatrics and Gynecology & Obstetrics in China. Now we have multiple faculty and post-doctoral positions open for a long term, and we are particularly interested in people who are carrying out research work in any one of the following fields:

1. Structural birth defects and their pathogenic mechanisms

2. Infectious disease and immunology

3. Neuronal developmental disorders

4. Stem cell biology and clinical application

5. Genomic science

6. Oncology

7. Birth cohort study and epidemiology

8. Gene therapy

Successful candidates should have established their own research program as an independent investigator or have productive post-doctoral training experience (for faculty positions) or have rencently obtained a Ph.D. or related degree (for post-doctoral position). Candidates who are qualified to apply for a China central government’s Young 1000 talent plan (青千计划) are particularly welcomed. .

The salary, relocation package, and start-up fund are highly competitive and negotiable. The hospital will offer research lab space with needed equipment, as well as talent support (including technical staff, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows). Other benefits include family member relocation, employment, and education, etc.

Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center (GWCMC) is a leading women and children’s medical center that is academically affiliated to Sun Yat-Sen University and Guangzhou Medical University. The Guangzhou Institute of Pediatrics is a fast growing institute within GWCMC. The mission of this institute is to establish and strengthen translational research in the field of pediatrics, e.g. to facilitate clinical applications via exploring the genetic, molecular, cellular, and system mechanism underlying diseases in children. The institute has state-of-the-art research facilities and the national largest birth cohort and related biobank. Currently, the institute has already recruited 6 PIs from USA, Australia, Germany, and England, and it is expected to host about 20-25 PIs within the coming 1 or 2 years.
