The Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) seeks an outstanding candidate to fill a position at the assistant professor level in Marine Science in the fields of Marine Biogeochemistry, Microbial Ecology and/or Microbial Technology at the Department of Biology, University of Southern Denmark.
The position starts by 1 January 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter and is co-sponsored by the Department of Biology and external research funds. The department and DIAS reside at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense.
The appointment is for four years with the possibility for a subsequent two years of employment as an associate professor. Note that teaching obligations will be reduced in this position compared to a regular assistant professor position at SDU.
The successful candidate should have a strong international profile, a strong record of research publications, and have demonstrated exceptional potential to excel in scientific research. We expect the candidate to actively engage in the development of the research unit as well as contribute to the interdisciplinary research in DIAS.
