Two permanent vacancies are available for associate professors (førsteamanuensis or førstelektor) in mental health care in the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion at the Faculty of Health Sciences from mid-August. We are looking for someone with the ability and willingness to help to strengthen the professional and educational work in our bachelor’s degree programme in nursing and in our interdisciplinary further education and master’s degree programme.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- teaching, supervision and assessment of students at bachelor, further education and master’s degree level
- contributing to academic and educational development of the programme
- supervision and assessment of students in practical training
- conducting research, development and dissemination work in the mental health field
- participating in the development of national and international research projects
Qualification requirements
We are looking for candidates who have
- a Norwegian authorisation as a general nurse
- competence equivalent to associate professor (førsteamanuensis or førstelektor)
- recent clinical experience of mental health care
- teaching qualifications
- experience of teaching and supervision at university/university college level
A PhD in health and social sciences is required for the position of associate professor (førsteamanuensis).
Persons appointed to Senior Lecturer (førstelektor) must have a university degree equivalent to a master’s degree, and documented extensive research and development work that in quality and scope corresponds to the workload and level of a doctorate degree.
General criteria for appointments to academic positions are covered by the Regulations for appointment and promotion to academic posts.
The applicant must document relevant educational theory and practice for higher education. Applicants who are unable to document basic teaching qualifications on appointment, must acquire these qualifications within two years. OsloMet offers a course on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (UHPED), in English together with the University of Oslo, that meets this requirement.
Proficiency in oral and written English is required. Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in a Scandinavian language, must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of commencement.

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMets pay policy for the position code and title, pay grade 60 -74, i.e. NOK 532.300-691.400 per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
