DTU Compute’s Section for Algorithms, Logic and Graph theory (AlgoLoG), invites applications for an appointment as Associate Professor within Quantum Graph Theory. The position is available from 1 May 2021 or according to mutual agreement.
We are seeking a candidate whose research concerns the interplay between combinatorics and quantum information, with a particular focus on graph theory. This includes but is not limited to the application of combinatorial/graph-theoretic tools to the study of entanglement, as well as research on quantum inspired graph relations/parameters and their combinatorial consequences. Additionally, familiarity with quantum groups will be viewed positively.
Responsibilities and tasks
We are seeking a candidate who is strongly committed to both research and teaching and will be able to interact closely with the existing graph theory group as well as other groups at DTU compute. In particular, the candidate is expected to actively engage in developing and strengthening the connection of DTU Compute to quantum science in relation to both research and teaching.
Furthermore you:
- will contribute to the teaching at all levels at DTU, in particular, in the area of discrete mathematics.
- are expected to participate in the ongoing work to establish a new master’s program in Quantum Science jointly with DTU Physics and the University of Copenhagen.
- will contribute to the teaching of the Quantum Master of Science program, once established and to engage in coordinating the program with the QMATH centre at the University of Copenhagen
- should be committed to motivate your colleague’s interest in quantum applications.
- should be prepared to interact with the physics department DTU Physics both in relation to research and teaching.
Qualifications
Candidates must
- hold a PhD degree (or equivalent), as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship
- document didactic/pedagogic training
You should have research experience in graph theory and its applications to quantum information theory.

- Documented innovation activities, including commercialization and collaboration with industry

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
