The Human Resources Internship Program aims to attract talented young women and men who are highly motivated to share their new perspectives, innovative ideas and latest research experiences in FAO fields. The program offers participants a learning opportunity to complement their academic knowledge with practical work in an area related to FAO’s work. Through the FAO internship experience, students will contribute to the United Nations sustainable development goals and to FAO’s strategic goals to reach the world Zero Hunger – ODD2.

The intern will be assigned to different areas of work depending on his profile and the needs of the Organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The intern will perform the functions specified in the terms of reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office before the start of the assignment.
CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUATED BASED ON THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate and graduate program at a bona fide educational institution (i.e. listed in the IAU / UNESCO database) at the time of application or graduates recent.
- Applicants should specialize in an area relevant to the mission and work of FAO.
- Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish).
- Knowledge of a second FAO language will be considered an advantage.
- Be nationals of Member States the FAO .
- Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 30.
- Applicants should be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment and have good communication skills.
- Applicants with family members (defined as brother, sister, mother or father) employed by FAO under any type of contractual arrangement are not eligible for the internship program.
- Applicants must have an appropriate residency or immigration status in the proposed duty station before the start of the internship assignment.
