The MS Application Specialist (Special Consultant) is expected to work as a team member and make sure the instrumentation is operating at highest level. This includes both maintenance tasks and adaption of MS methods for individual user projects. In addition, the MS Application Specialist will be a driving force for MS method development projects, which result in the expansion of services offered by the facility.
The main tasks of the position include
* Running customer samples on latest generation LC-MS/MS equipment
* Adapting MS methods to individual projects
* Performing weekly maintenance procedures on MS and HPLC instrumentation
* Developing new MS methods and documenting them
* Preparing app-notes and method papers
* Trouble-shooting MS and HPLC problems
* Interacting with CPR MS specialists or instrument manufacturers’ technical support for cleaning and problem solving.
Qualifications
The position is expected to have a profound understanding of LC-MS/MS technology, and proven experience in MS method development and application. The ideal candidate should fulfil the following qualifications:
* More than 2 years of experience in MS based proteomics
* Proven skills of MS method development
* Knowledge of basic MS data analysis
* Experience in handling Thermo Orbitrap and / or Bruker timsTOF instrumentation
* Experience in trouble shooting on-line HPLC setups
* Basic programming skills (R or Python) are an advantage
* Previous experience in Top-down mass spectrometry is an advantage
* Service-minded personality and team-player
* Good communication skills, fluent in English language.
Employment conditions for Mass Spectrometry Scientist
The employment is as a special consultant and is a full time and fixed-term position for 2 years, with a possibility of extension. Starting date expected to be July 2021 but can be agreed upon with the candidate. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
