Job Summary/Basic Function:
We are currently accepting applications for positions at the level of Research Technician / Senior Research Technician / Research Assistant to join our research team. Specific duties include mammalian and amphibian cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, plasmid construction and preparation, transfection of mammalian and amphibian cells, protein production and purification from bacteria. Experimental design and troubleshooting are important skills. Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS degree typically in one of the biological sciences, physics, or chemistry or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience. Should be familiar with lab techniques.

Bachelors Degree
Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with tissue culture, molecular biology, and light microscopy lab techniques is preferred. Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in: genomics, proteomics, live cell imaging, broad knowledge of molecular biology techniques, and ability to independently formulate and troubleshoot experimental protocols. The candidate should also possess strong abilities to organize, interpret and present data. The candidate must have strong team skills for collaborating with other laboratory members on research projects.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.
