Chair (W3) of History of Technology and Economy

is to be filled on 01.10.2020.

The applicant should represent the field in research and teaching within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and is obliged to participate in the self-administration of the university. A disposition and ability to conduct classes in English is desirable. The participation in the Collaborative Research Centre (Sonder­forschungsbereich) 1285 „Invectivity. Constellations and Dynamics of Disparagement“, and the cooperation with partners of DRESDEN-concept (e. g. Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr, Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden) as well as with other partners in the field is expected.

Candidates are expected to be internationally established. Their fields of research should be indicative of a wide range of interests in different historical periods. Experience in acquiring third party funding is presupposed. A focus on current theories and issues of history, culture, language, and/or social sciences is highly desired, as well as the willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation, also with disciplines from the technical and natural sciences. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
