About the role
The Leicester Law School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Canadian Law to support the School’s teaching activities. We are particularly looking for candidates to enhance our provision of Canadian Law modules, including Foundations of Canadian Law and Canadian Constitutional Law, as well as delivering teaching on our other core and optional modules at undergraduate level on our various LLB programmes.
You will facilitate student learning using a comprehensive range of delivery methods including lectures, seminars and tutoring. You will be confident in reviewing, evaluating and developing the key skills of students, working to provide world class teaching and learning opportunities and regularly collecting and responding to student feedback. You will additionally support the employability prospects of our Canadian students through your professional knowledge and links to the profession in Canada.
As the ideal candidate you will have experience in the practice of law in either England and Wales or Canada, or hold a PhD in law. We are looking for someone with a real passion for the subject matter, capable of inspiring interest, curiosity and drive for learning in our students. You may not necessarily have higher education teaching experience, but be able to demonstrate some experience in the teaching and training of others and a commitment to developing your own teaching skills. You will be motivated to provide the very best experience for our students using your expertise and skill to ensure all reach their potential.
