Position Summary:
The Department of Art + Design at Susquehanna University is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History for the 2024-25 Academic Year (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Semesters). Instruction will be in-person and synchronous. The successful candidate will teach a 2/3 course load, with courses that support departmental majors and minors, as well as required Central Curriculum courses for the larger campus community. While a successful candidate is welcomed to engage with university service opportunities and academic advising, it will not be required of the position. Courses will range from survey level needs including Introduction to World Art I: Prehistory to 1400 and Introduction to World Art II: 15th to 20th Century; to upper-level courses including Women in Art, Contemporary Art, and topic related courses such as Modernism, Baroque, and Renaissance. Candidates must be willing to collaborate with existing Art History curriculum needs, but will have some flexibility in offered topics-based courses.
Required Qualifications:
M.A. in Art History
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D candidate, ABD, or complete Ph.D in Art History
