About the Position

The Faculty of Education invites applications for an Instructional Limited Term Appointment in the Department of Educational Studies in the area of Adult and Postsecondary Education at the rank of Assistant Professor. The three (3) year appointment, subject to budgetary approval, will commence January 1, 2024. The successful candidate will have a Doctorate in Education with a focus on Adult Education. An ongoing research agenda in the field of Adult and Postsecondary Education which informs a candidate’s teaching will be considered an asset.

Preferred candidates will have:

  • teaching and curriculum development, in the field of adult education, in offline/online learning environments;
  • experiences with teaching undergraduate and graduate students (face-to-face and online teaching modes); and
  • evidence of strong connections with local, national, and international adult education communities and networks. The successful candidate will teach adult education and postsecondary education courses in the online undergraduate ADED program, the undergraduate Educational Studies (EDUC) program, and the MEd program.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to decolonization, reconciliation, anti-racism, and social and ecological justice issues within adult education learning contexts in course design, research endeavours, and teaching.
