Information Systems Area – Assistant Professor Position in Digital Transformation

Position Description
The DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Information Systems Area. The position will begin on July 01, 2024.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in information systems or a related discipline at the time, or near the time, of appointment. The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of a strong  record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals, or the potential to establish a strong scholarly record, and evidence of, or potential for, teaching excellence. The successful candidate will have experience and expertise in both conducting research and teaching in the broad area of Digital Transformation, and specifically in Artificial Intelligence (AI) or data analytics. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the School’s undergraduate and graduate academic programs at both its Hamilton and Burlington locations, serve on internal School and University committees, and support the School’s initiatives within the business and other external communities.

The Information Systems Area is committed to excellence in both research and teaching and is one of eight Areas comprising the DeGroote School of Business. The Information Systems Area places emphasis on the managerial, social, technical and behavioural aspects of the use of information technologies in its research and teaching, especially in terms of newer digital innovations. The School offers a number of programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Commerce and MBA programs, a Certificate in Business Technology Management, an EMBA in Digital Transformation, an MSc in eHealth, and a Ph.D., which includes a field in Information Systems.
