The Institute of Mechanical Engineering – IDMEC is opening a call for Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships
Applications are open for 1 (one), Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, within the framework of ATE (Aliança para a Transição Energética), C644914717-00000023, financed under PRR Program, NestGenerationEU, under the following conditions:

Admission Requirements:
Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships
- to hold a PhD degree obtained in the 3 years previously to the submission of the fellowship application;
- to have carried out the research work that led to the PhD degree in a different entity from the host institution of the fellowship;
- not to exceed, with this fellowship contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of 3 years in this type of fellowship, continuously or with interruptions;
- not to have previously held a post-doctoral fellowship from IDMEC.
- to have worked in science management area, and in the development of applications for national and international projects.
Workplan and the objectives to achieve:
The candidate is expected to carry out management, innovation, and scientific research work within the scope of transportation systems, supporting the tasks of: Information processing and statistical data analysis and preparing technical reports and project summaries; Tasks supporting Science and Technology Management, as well as communication, dissemination and/or exploitation, organization of meetings, conferences and/or seminars; Capturing and selecting national and international calls, as well as establishing networking activities with entities external and internal to the institution to establish consortia; Support for monitoring projects in calls and future projects.

Workplace: The work will be developed at IDMEC – Institute of Mechanical Engineering, being both the Host and Contracting Entity, and under the scientific supervision of Professor António Andrade
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 3 months. It’s expected to begin in on May 1st, 2024, and may eventually be renewed up to the maximum stated by the law or the end of the project.
Monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1,801.00, being the payment method by Wire Transfer.
Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: i) Curriculum evaluation (60%); ii) professional experience aligned with the workplan (40%).
Composition of the selection Jury: Professor António Ramos Andrade (president), Professor Virgínia Infante, Professor Jorge Ambrósio.
Selection minutes: Brief minutes of the jury meetings will be drawn up, indicating the names and affiliation of the jury members, the names of the excluded and admitted candidates, the criteria and respective assessment by candidate, ranking of candidates, and all decisions must have clear and sufficient grounds. The minutes must be accompanied by declarations of conflict of interest (CDI) of all members of the jury.
Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will communicated to all applicants by email.
After be notified, candidates have 10 working days to submit a formal rebuttal, by email.
Application deadline and formalization: The call is open in the period between April 03 and April 16 , until 18:00, 2024.
Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships
It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: Curriculum Vitae; academic degree certificate; motivation letter; declaration on Honor that the applicant does not exceed with this contract an accumulated period of three years in this type of fellowship, continuously or with interruptions, within the technological and scientific system, and that the research work that led to the PhD degree was carried out in a different entity from the host institution of the fellowship.
