The purpose of the grant is to give junior researchers the opportunity to establish themselves as independent researchers in Sweden.

Applicant: Individual researcher who has completed a doctoral degree more than 2 years ago and up to 7 years ago.
Participating researchers: No participating researchers may be invited to join the application.
Grant period: 4 years
Grant amount: 1 500 000 SEK per year

Application period: 22 February 2023 (14.00/2 pm) – 28 March 2023 (14.00/2 pm)
Publication of grant award: No later than the end/beginning of November 2023
Please note:
- This year’s call includes separate support for the areas of precision medicine, psychiatry with focus on psychiatric involuntary care and forensic psychiatry, and antibiotic and antimicrobial resistance. Please state in your application whether it relates to any of these areas.
- As from 2023, all who are awarded a career grant must validate their doctoral degrees. If you have a Swedish doctoral degree, you can validate it easily before you send in your application. - You must justify in your research plan how your stated activity level (which must be a minimum of 50 per cent of a full-time equivalent) is suited to the implementation of the research project. We also ask you to describe the management of risks or obstacles to the implementation of the research plan.
- As from 2022, there are guidelines for study registration and result reporting for clinical studies funded by the Swedish Research CouncilOpens in new window.. This means that information about the study shall be registered in a public study register, and that a summary of the results shall be published in the register.
