Within this frame, the Academic Plan (2018-2023) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at SFU outlines the importance of hiring and mentoring Indigenous health scholars and invites applications for a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Indigenous Health Governance with an anticipated start date of Fall 2024 or later.
The Faculty of Health Sciences FHS is located on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations at the SFU Burnaby campus. Created in 2005, the mission of the Faculty is to improve the health of individuals and populations and to reduce health inequities through excellence in interdisciplinary research and education, in partnership with local, national, and global communities. FHS is committed to social justice, respect for human dignity, and equity. The successful candidate will join a diverse and dynamic team of more than 50 multi-disciplinary faculty members and will have the opportunity to engage with and teach outstanding students in the PhD, MSc, MPH, and BA/BSc programs. The Faculty maintains collaborative agreements and partnerships with the BC government, regional health authorities, the First Nations Health Authority, research centres, and other health agencies.
The Position We seek a scholar whose program of research uses Indigenous methodologies to build Indigenous peoples’ right to self-determine their own health and wellness journeys. The successful applicant will be familiar with the provincial health system, as well as have established partnership/partnerships with Indigenous nations, communities, and/or organizations, in British Columbia (BC), Canada.
The successful applicant will be expected to engage in research on Indigenous health governance in collaboration with partners, including the BC First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). FNHA is the health and wellness partner to over 200 diverse First Nations communities and citizens across BC, and has a Research Affiliation Agreement with SFU. The candidate will help FHS support and enforce reciprocal recognition and respectful relationships with Indigenous communities. They will be expected to assume the leadership of the Centre for Collaborative Action on Indigenous Health Governance, which will have a shared governance model with the FNHA. A reduced teaching load (1.5 courses per year) will be provided during the term of the Tier 2 Chair, and the successful applicant will be expected to actively contribute to teaching in Indigenous health, as well as supervising graduate students.
CRC appointments use a two-step application process where candidates must first apply to an open job posting to the university and then submit an application for external peer review. This tenure-track CRC appointment opportunity is intended for emerging scholars in a related health or social science field, at the rank of assistant or associate professor (or those who possess the necessary qualifications to be appointed to these levels). The applicant’s research area should primarily align with the mandate of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) or the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), as outlined in the Guidelines for Selecting the Appropriate Federal Granting Agency.
Tier 2 Chairs are intended for exceptional emerging scholars (i.e., candidate must have been an active researcher in their field for fewer than 10 years at the time of nomination). Applicants who are more than 10 years from their highest degree (and where career breaks exist, such as parental leave, extended sick leave, clinical training etc.) may have their eligibility for a Tier 2 CRC assessed through the program’s Tier 2 justification process; please see the CRC website for eligibility details.

- Capacity to build sustainable partnerships and secure external research grant funding;
- Success in working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and staff in academic, research, professional, and community contexts;
- Commitment to supporting research interests driven by Indigenous communities in BC, in addition to their own individual professional achievements;
- Use of Indigenous methodologies;
- Contributions to knowledge exchange, integration, and mobilization with Indigenous communities related to Indigenous people’s right to self-determine their own health and wellness journeys; and
- Competence in Indigenous-based governance structures in BC.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to foster respectful and reciprocal relationships across disciplinary, cultural, and community differences, within academia, with external partners and in the province;
- Ability to cultivate a sense of respect, trust, and leadership among elders, knowledge keepers, research collaborators, community partners, faculty, staff, students, and trainees;
- Ability to communicate Indigenous and academic approaches to complex and sensitive issues in ways that promote dialogue, understanding, and the building of consensus within the academy, with Indigenous communities, and among wider audiences; and
- Ability to foster collaborative work environments that promote equity and diversity, including accessibility, in process, procedures and outputs.
Research & Collaborative Values:
- The highest standards of ethics and integrity, according to both academic and Indigenous traditions of right action and ethical relationality;
- A respectful and open approach informed by Indigenous values and traditions, and a commitment to the building and sharing of advanced knowledge in academic and public institutions honouring relational accountability;
- A willingness to think creatively and ability to innovate, including ongoing engagement with a diversity of approaches to knowledge creation; and
- The ideal candidate also values diverse perspectives and continuous learning.
Teaching and mentorship:
- Knowledge and experience with Indigenous pedagogies;
- Incorporation of Indigenous ways of knowing, teaching, and learning into instructional and mentorship practice; and
- Commitment to decolonizing approaches to education and creating inclusive learning environments.
Pursuant to Section 42 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference will be given to candidates who self-identify as Indigenous or have Indigenous ancestry and will bring to this role knowledge that comes from the lived experiences of those underrepresented in higher education, particularly the experiences of Indigenous persons. Such candidates who wish to qualify for preferential consideration are requested to self-identify in their application.
Education The CRC program has been structured to support candidates who work in academia. Therefore, candidates with a PhD in a relevant social science or health field are most likely to be successful. Candidates who are currently close to completing their doctorates are encouraged to apply if their area of scholarship aligns with the position. Candidates who do not have a PhD, but who have commensurate experience and whose scholarship aligns with the position will also be considered.

- Addresses how research contributes to knowledge exchange, integration, and mobilization with Indigenous communities related to Indigenous people’s right to self-determine their own health and wellness journeys; and
- Defines the role of collaboration with FNHA in the proposed research program;
- Two examples of excellent scholarly work. This can include non-traditional or unconventional outputs, such as those based in Indigenous ways of knowing;
- A teaching portfolio including a two-page statement of teaching philosophy and experience, including experience with and understanding of inclusive teaching and diverse student needs, as well as other evidence of teaching strengths; and
- The names and contact information for a BC Indigenous partner community, nation, or organization and three professional referees and that will write support letters on behalf of the applicant. References will only be contacted for shortlisted candidates.

This position is contingent upon the applicant receiving a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair prior to being appointed to a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at SFU. This means that the successful candidate in this search will work with Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences to prepare a nomination package for a Canada Research Chair (please see the Canada Research Chairs website for further details regarding application). After review and approval by the Vice Presidents, Research Office at SFU, the nomination will be submitted to the CRC program, ideally in April 2024. The nomination package will then be evaluated by the CRC program’s external reviewers. Should the applicant be successful at this step, we estimate the earliest start date possible to be October 2024.

The Strategy and Business Economics (SBE) Division of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) invites applications for one tenure- track position at the Assistant Professor level. In order to strengthen the Division’s core research areas, we are inviting applications exclusively from researchers with a dual specialization in the areas of (i) urban & real estate economics and (ii) industrial organization, with research applications rooted in micro-economic modelling and rigorous empirical methodology that help inform business strategy and/or public policy.
Applicants must have a record of research commensurate with the rank and a demonstrated successful experience in teaching. Entry level applicants should demonstrate an interest in and potential to conduct high quality research in a related field and be very close to completing or have completed a Ph.D. We welcome applications from outstanding candidates who demonstrate a strong interest in applying economic insights to decision- making in businesses.
Duties include developing and maintaining an active research program aimed at making a significant contribution to the profession, teaching in the Undergraduate, MBA and Ph.D. programs, supervising Ph.D. students, as well as contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives of the Strategy and Business Economics Division and the Sauder School of Business. Teaching and service requirements are similar to other research- intensive universities.
The Division consists of economists who conduct research in areas such as international trade, industrial organization, public policy, innovation, and urban and real estate economics. The applicant must possess demonstrated experience in small animal dentistry, spaying and neutering, and other aspects of primary care small animal clinical practice. Advanced training or qualifications in small animal dentistry or veterinary practice are an asset. A graduate Master’s degree or higher and experience with graduate student supervision are desirable. Experience in teaching and scholarly research will be considered favorably. The ideal candidate should have strong skills in primary health care, including dentistry, outstanding teaching, mentoring and communication skills. The successful candidate will spend approximately half of their time practicing in the OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital, a fully operational primary healthcare companion animal veterinary practice, working with final-year DVM students by teaching entry-level skills with clinical cases on primary healthcare rotations. The OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital is also equipped to provide rehabilitation services. You will work with three other experienced primary care veterinarians and an excellent technician and customer service team.
In addition to your efforts in small animal practice, you will join our Clinical Skills team in laboratory sessions dedicated to teaching day-one competencies in small animal medicine and surgery to junior DVM students. You will also assist students in planning, coordinating, and assessing their required 8-week experiential learning rotation outside the OVC.
Remaining time will be spent on scholarly and service activities. The candidate will develop and participate in independent or collaborative research, ideally centered on the scholarship of teaching or a related field. You may expect to mentor and supervise graduate students. External remunerative activities are permitted within university guidelines.

The Centre for Medieval Studies offers opportunities for both graduate-level teaching and, thanks to its close collaboration with the program in Mediaeval Studies at Saint Michael’s College, for undergraduate-level teaching and supervision. As one of the leading scholars in the field, the successful candidate will participate actively within both of these programs and help to promote their collaboration and a consistency across the University of Toronto’s medieval studies curriculum on a global scale. In terms of graduate teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute substantially to the Medieval Latin program, which is the program of reference in the field in North America and comprises four levels of instruction (Medieval Latin I and II, advanced seminars, and N/CR summer courses for beginners), as well as to the area of Manuscript Studies and Textual Cultures (Paleography, Codicology, Diplomatics, and topic focused courses). In terms of undergraduate teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and contribute foundational and upper-level courses in the undergraduate program in Mediaeval Studies at Saint Michael’s College, as well as to supervise senior essays and research-focussed student initiatives. In terms of research, the successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program in the areas of Medieval Latin Studies and Manuscript Studies and Textual Cultures. - Designing technologies for users to interface with others when different developmental or neural differences exist (e.g., brain computer interfaces to enable nonverbal communication)
- Use of multi modal inputs and advanced AI/ML for enabling novel technologies to support neurodivergent individuals
- Community-based and participatory design of technologies to improve the quality of life of people with neurodevelopmental differences.
The successful candidate will have a mandate to develop a research program that advances critically required knowledge for developing biomedical engineering tools and technologies that can be applied to research into neurodevelopment, that will attract competitive external funding, and experience in teaching and graduate student supervision at the University level. The Information Systems (IS) Area of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University invites applications for a one-year Contractual Academic Staff (CAS) appointment; the contract is renewable. McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management invites applications for Open Rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full) positions in the Information Systems Area, pending budget approval. The start date for the position is August 1st, 2024. Candidates must have (or be near completion) of a Ph.D. in Information Systems. Applicants demonstrating outstanding potential who are doctoral students and plan to have completed the requirements for their Ph.D. by December 2024 will also be considered. We have a particular interest in candidates whose research profiles align with one of four subjects - EDI, sustainability, entrepreneurship/innovation, and AI/analytics. Applicants in other sub-disciplines will also be considered.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to advance a cutting-edge, compelling, and impactful research agenda. The ideal candidate will have evidence of effective teaching, an experience-appropriate record of research publications in high quality, peer-reviewed journals, and clear promise of conducting innovative and important research publishable in the top journals in information systems such as those listed on the Desautels 22. Successful candidates are also expected to work actively with doctoral students, to teach in our undergraduate and graduate programs, and contribute to the administration of the Area and Faculty. Our emerging teaching needs include, but are not limited to business analytics, core IS course, project management, as well as digital innovation, for both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Teaching duties include engagement in both of our undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Faculty of Education offers two cohort-based graduate-level counselling psychology programs which are in high demand and are approved programs with the College of Alberta Psychologists. This includes the blended-delivery Master of Counselling (MC) program as well as an on-campus Master of Education (MEd) Counselling Psychology program (which is currently undergoing a significant revision to meet and exceed registration requirements in all Canadian jurisdictions). The Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge seeks to fill a full-time Tenure Track position in Counselling Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment carries the following key expectations:
- Engage in scholarly or creative work.
- Contribute to the graduate program, including teaching graduate courses and supervising graduate student research.
- Engage in service work, across the campus and within the community (local to international).
Qualifications include a doctorate in Counselling, School, or Clinical Psychology. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
The successful candidate must have:
(a) skill and experience in Formal Assessment, Psychopathology and Diagnosis (across the lifespan), and have the ability and interest to teach courses in these areas, and
