The research group belongs to the Liver Unit of the Vall Hebron University Hospital and is part of the Liver Diseases Research Group of VHIR. It is also a consolidated group, recognized by AGAUR and it is integrated at the CIBERehd. The team has dedicated the last years to the study of hemodynamic alterations of portal hypertension in experimental models of liver cirrhosis and in new treatments to improve portal hypertension and intrahepatic resistance, development of a new NASH model in rat, the role of intestinal microbiota in the progression of the disease and in a new line of research using nanoparticles as drug delivery system for therapeutics in liver diseases.
Main responsibilities and duties
- In addition to carrying out his/her own project, the selected person will co-direct highly competitive translational projects from the different clinicians of the Liver Unit involved in basic research.

Education and qualifications
Required:
- Postdoctoral researchers of any nationality.
- Candidates must have obtained their doctoral degrees two to seven years ago (between 05/10/2016 and 05/10/2021, both inclusive). In the event of an interruption of the research activity (illness, accident, maternity/paternity) between the date of obtaining the doctoral degree the candidate may have an extension of the corresponding period. (see the conditions for both Incoming and Retaining modalities in the link above)
- At the moment of the Junior leadership application (the deadline is 5 October 2024) you will need to present at least three reference letters of support. These letters can be from the academic or professional sphere. It is imperative that you contact them soon to not delay your application.

Additional Information
Labour conditions:
- Full-time: 40h/week.
- Starting date: between 2nd May and 31st December 2024.
- Gross annual salary: 59,000 euros, plus 38,500€ max for annual research project costs (see the detailed economic conditions on the call in the link above).
