Job description
The Centre for ECO2 Vehicle Design is now looking for a researcher in methods for facilitating circular practices in the vehicle industry. The successful applicant will undertake research into the utilization of product and operational data in designing for end-of-life vehicles and the transition to circular practices within the vehicle industry. This will include building upon current lifecycle optimization methodologies to avail of industry data, design cases and know-how so that they can be used in real-world situations – for example, in planning preventative maintenance. As such, the job will involve close collaboration with vehicle industry partners within ECO2.

Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- A documented ability to publish work in international journals of high standing.
- The ability to work independently as well as in collaborations and perform critical analysis as well as possessing good levels of cooperative and communicative abilities.
- Research expertise
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
- It is preferable that the applicant has demonstratable experience in lifecycle optimization, data-driven methods, and engineering design, sustainable product development.
- It is also preferable that applicants can demonstrate that they are personally motivated to undertake research leading to scientific publications as well as working together with specialists from other disciplines and organizations in this applied research project.
- Teaching abilities
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
The position offered is for, at the most, two years.
