Posted 7 Monaten ago

The postdoctor position is part of a new national research project „Human-Centered Intelligent Realities (HINTS)“ carried out with six industrial partners and is partly externally funded by the KK Foundation. In co-production with our corporate partners and the community, we develop concepts, principles, methods, algorithms, and tools for human-centered intelligent realities, to lead the way for future immersive, user-aware, and intelligent interactive digital environments. The project is divided into five separate Research Themes (A-E) which collaborate within the framework of sub-projects. The postdoctor position in this call will primarily be involved in Research Theme B/C.

Research themes in HINTS:

  • Research Theme A: Novel Experience Assessment Methodologies for Intelligent Realities
  • Research Theme B: Novel Environment and Interaction Techniques for Intelligent Realities
  • Research Theme C: Visual Analytics for Intelligent Realities
  • Research Theme D: Adaptive and Distributed AI for Intelligent Realities
  • Research Theme E: Networking for Intelligent Realities

The focus of Theme B/C is in the area of intelligent realities with the development of new intelligent virtual 3D environments, interaction techniques, and immersive visual analysis/visualization. The challenge lies in individualizing the design, management, and use of these environments, adapting the interaction techniques, and providing visual analytics to improve the overall user experience. Artificial intelligence (AI) will play a crucial role in the individualization process. The growing availability of user data helps designers identify user trends and can be leveraged to shape user environments and visual analytics. A postdoctor will essentially carry out research. The position may involve teaching up to a maximum of one-fifth of the working hours.

Benefits

We are one of Sweden’s most distinctly profiled institutes of technology, with a focus on IT and innovation for a sustainable future. A key word at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) is closeness – close cooperation with industry and society, and closeness to our students and to our management. Our closeness to the sea is also very apparent at both campuses, as well as being a comfortable bike ride away from the city and residential areas. BTH stands for quality and new approaches and strives to be recognised as an open, exciting and creative higher education institution. We develop new knowledge through our research, which often takes place in collaboration with wider society and with a specific application in mind. The research contributes to a sustainable future, through directly through our research results as well as indirectly, through our PhD graduates and research-based undergraduate studies. To reach our goals, we need motivated and committed staff who are provided with the conditions to deliver research and education of the highest quality. Work environment and equal opportunities are consistently on the agenda and we strive for continuous improvements. Does this sound like your future?

The Department of Computer Science (DIDA) is one of three departments at the Faculty of Computing. The department is BTH’s largest department at BTH with 70 people. At the department, research is conducted in two major areas: computer science and engineering, as well as visual and interactive computer science. There are a number of different research projects in both areas.
