Job Description
Position Summary
The Bigley lab studies viral immunology with a focus on modeling virus-induced autoimmune disease. Work in the lab is primarily with murine and human herpesviruses, but other viruses that alter immune regulation are also studied. Techniques in the lab include molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, viral genetics, flow cytometry, analysis of large data sets (-omics), figures and manuscripts, and basic research laboratory experiments and assays. The lab also has an interest in virus-induced neuroinflammation.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in virology, bacteriology, immunology, molecular biology, or related field.
- Willingness to work with laboratory rodents.
- Background in molecular biology, microbiology, cloning, PCR, flow cytometry, cell culture, mouse handling, and tissue processing.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, FlowJo and Prism.
- Knowledge in programming is desired.
Working Conditions
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.
