Applications are now accepted for the 2020/21 doctoral programs at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca ( www.imtlucca.it), one of the six schools of excellence in Italy and one of the highest rated higher schools in Europe according to the latest U-Multirank survey. Highly motivated candidates from all disciplines are invited to apply for one of the 33 fully funded positions. Each of the two doctoral programs has its own two domain-specific tracks, which partially share a common scientific background and are directly linked to the school’s four scientific and research macro-domains. Applicants can apply for one (or more) of the following programs and tracks:
Doctoral program in cognitive and cultural systems
- Analysis and management of cultural heritage (AMCH) Track
- Follow cognitive, computational and social neuroscience (CNSC)
Doctoral program in systems science
- Computer and Systems Engineering Track (CSSE)
- Economy, Networks and Business Analytics (ENBA) Follow
Classes are led by world renowned researchersand provide students with all the theoretical skills and advanced tools necessary to rigorously tackle a multitude of analysis, design and management problems within the general framework of systems analysis in the economic, social, scientific fields , technological and cultural. Professors and specialist staff create a network that provides key advice and support throughout the doctoral program. Working closely with faculty, both in the classroom and in research development, students achieve the highest levels of academic success. All students are based in the recently restored San Francesco complex, a fully integrated campus in the historic center of the beautiful Tuscan city of Lucca. The campus includes renovated residential facilities, an on-site canteen, study and living rooms, a state-of-the-art library and outdoor recreational spaces, which promote a unique cultural, professional and social environment for our doctoral program. Eligible students, in addition to free accommodation and food, will also receive a research grant of around € 15,300 / year. The scholarships are fully funded for a maximum of four years, with the possibility of graduation after the third year.
The IMT school doctoral programs attract students from all over the world, offering a truly international environment. English is the official language of the school. In addition, all students will have the possibility of spending stays abroad in research institutes, laboratories or universities, both within the framework of Erasmus + and via ad hoc mobility agreements.
