Pure Leaf believes “No Is Beautiful.” Nearly 2/3 of moms have questioned their value because they were overwhelmed with doing it all. Household chores, childcare, and job stresses feel endless, and saying “no” to those responsibilities often comes at a real financial cost.
That’s why we started the “No” Grants: to give women a little extra financial support to help them say “no” to unrealistic expectations. Last year, as part of our $1 million commitment to dismantle the barriers women face when they say “no,” we partnered with SeekHer Foundation, an organization working to dismantle societal expectations that negatively impact women. We created the “No” Grants, a fund providing short-term support to women who want to say “no” more in the workplace.
Now, in year two, we also brought in maternal care advocate, author, and mother Elaine Welteroth. With $400,000 in grant funding, we hope to alleviate some of the real financial pressures of motherhood.
Whether it’s ordering take out, sending out laundry, or getting a sitter on date night, the “No” Grants are designed to give moms the extra help they need, so they can simplify their life. Want to say “no” to doing it all and “yes” to a little extra financial help? Share your story below.
- Grants are $2,000 and include access to SeekHer’s “No is Beautiful” in Motherhood resources and support community (open to all applicants)
- Grants are subject to applicable taxes
- Open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older (19 years of age or older in Alabama and Nebraska) as of date of entry, who identifies as a mother.
- There will be three application periods:
- May 9, 2023 - June 30, 2023
- July 1, 2023 - August 31, 2023
- September 1, 2023 - October 31, 2023
- Applications will only be accepted in English
- You may enter once per application period with a different, unique entry
- An individual can only be a recipient of one grant
No purchase necessary. The “No” Grants Contest is sponsored by Pepsi-Cola Company. Open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older (19 years of age or older in Alabama and Nebraska) as of date of entry), who identify as a mother. Begins 7:00 a.m. ET on 5/9/23 and ends 11:59 p.m.

Description du projet

PhD and postdoc positions are available in the group of Prof. Stefan Willitsch at the University of Basel (Switzerland) on the development of quantum technologies for single trapped molecular ions and their application in precision spectroscopy.
Project description
In recent years, impressive advances in the quantum control of ultracold atoms and atomic ions have been achieved which enabled measurements with an unprecedented precision. Similarly precise experiments on molecules open up a range of new scientific perspectives including tests of new physical concepts, the implementation of new frequency standards, accurate evaluations of physical theories such as quantum electrodynamics and precise determinations of fundamental constants. They also lay the foundations for applications of molecules in the realm of modern quantum science such as quantum information and quantum sensing.
We have recently developed a new experimental approach enabling the readout of the quantum state of a single trapped molecular ion without destroying the molecule and indeed its quantum state itself. In the present project, the potential of this new method will be harnessed to perform highly sensitive and precise spectroscopic measurements on single molecules. In the project, we will introduce completely new methods for molecular spectroscopy, further develop quantum technologies for molecular systems and establish new limits for the measurement precision of trapped molecules.

{:}{:en}The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched a Rapid Response Window (RRW) to address the funding gap on women’s participation in formal peace processes and the implementation of peace agreements.
The WPHF RRW provides financing for strategic, short term and urgent services and initiatives led by women peacebuilders and women’s civil society organizations to increase women’s influence in national, subnational and international formal peace processes. The WPHF RRW does not support community-focused initiatives and is not intended to fund medium or long-term peacebuilding initiatives.
This new funding mechanism is open to formal peace processes in all ODA eligible countries with a track 1 or track 2 peace process or implementation of a peace agreement. See definitions of peace process, track 1, track 2 and implementation of peace agreement here.
The WPHF RRW is open to receive proposals for maximum duration of six months through two available streams:
- Direct Support Stream (up to $25,000 USD – this is not a grant and no funding will be provided to the beneficiaries)
The WPHF RRW or RRW INGO partners pay for costs directly so that the required service is provided rapidly. Once the WPHF RRW or RRW INGO partners pay for the service, the CSO/women peacebuilders use the service to support their work on women’s meaningful participation in peace processes or peace agreement implementation. This includes logistical and technical support that would increase the likelihood of a woman CSO representative/woman peacebuilder to actively participate in or influence a peace process or the implementation of a peace agreement — such as the cost of childcare, access for persons with disabilities, interpretation needs, expert advisory support, travels arrangements, etc. Please note that successful applicants receive services, not a grant. Services will be purchased and arranged directly from the WPHF RRW Secretariat or one of its partners on behalf of selected applicants. APPLY FOR DIRECT SUPPORT STREAM
- Short-Term Grants Stream (up to $100,000 USD – the CSO will receive funding)
The WPHF RRW works with a range of INGO partners to deliver rapid grants for women’s civil society organizations’ projects that address diverse barriers to women’s influence and participation in Track 1 or Track 2 peace processes, or the implementation of a peace agreement. APPLY FOR SHORT-TERM GRANTS STREAM
Please note that organizations can apply for both Direct Support and Short-Term Grant at the same time. If you are applying for both, you must submit a separate application form using the appropriate templates.
There is no deadline for applications. The RRW is demand-driven and accepts submissions on a rolling basis.
Eligibility Criteria
Do you represent a local or national civil society organization (especially women-led) seeking to increase women’s participation in a specific track 1 or track 2 formal peace process, or specific peace agreement monitoring and implementation mechanisms?
Are you a woman peacebuilder seeking to influence or participate to a specific track 1 or track 2 formal peace process, or specific peace agreement monitoring and implementation mechanisms?
