Rotary scholarships for water and sanitation professionals

The strategic partnership between the Rotary Foundation (TRF) and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education aims to tackle the global water and sanitation crisis by increasing the number of professionals trained to design, plan and implement solutions in developing and emerging countries.

Thanks to this partnership, a limited number of scholarships are granted each year to graduate students on the campus of the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands. These scholarships are designed to promote long-term productive relationships between Rotarians and the highly skilled water and sanitation professionals in their communities.

Rotarians interview and select from local applicants who have already been admitted to one of the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education’s 18-month eligible Master of Science programs.

The following IHE Delft MSc program specializations are eligible for a Rotary 2020-2022 scholarship:

Joint specializations from these programs are not eligible.

Rotarian sponsors remain in contact with the scholarship recipient throughout their studies. At the end of the program, the fellow and Rotarian partners join a water-related activity in the fellow’s country of origin. Rotarians in the Netherlands involve academics in cultural and Rotary-related events during their academic program. Funding for successful applicants will be managed through the Rotary block grant process.
