Algoma University (www.algomau.ca) has a special mission to be a teaching-oriented university that provides programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and professional programs, primarily at the undergraduate level. We have a particular focus on the needs of Northern Ontario, and a special mission to cultivate cross-cultural learning between Indigenous communities and other communities, in keeping with the history of Algoma University and its geographic site. The School of Computer Science and Technology is currently in a period of growth, with the addition of new faculty, the development of on-line programs and graduate programs, and increased collaboration with local industry. Currently we are offering programs at all three campuses. Our vision is to provide high quality education in Computer Science and Information Technology, and promote excellence in innovative research and collaboration with industry and academic partners.
Algoma University invites applications for a Tenure-Track appointment in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Technology, at its Brampton campus, commencing January 1, 2022, or as negotiated. Preference will be given to candidates with a completed Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in teaching Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Data Mining or Data Warehouse, with a demonstrated relevant academic background and a record of teaching excellence. Experience with remote/online/hybrid/technologically-assisted instruction is desirable.

- a statement of teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., examples of peer and/or student evaluations)
- sample publications
- the names, contact information and relationship of five referees (one of whom should be the most recent immediate supervisor)
