3. Job Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Teaching courses in circuits, embedded systems, and electrical machines using active learning strategies.

Enhancing and continuously improving the first-year curriculum while contributing to second- and third-year courses in embedded systems.
-
Mentoring students and collaborating with colleagues to promote innovative, evidence-based teaching practices.
-
Engaging in educational research and scholarly activities to boost the visibility of the department and the school.
4. Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
-
PhD (or a Master’s degree with the expectation of obtaining a PhD by the start date) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Demonstrated excellence or potential in university-level teaching.
-
Strong interest in innovative, evidence-based teaching practices (project-based learning, interactive classroom activities, etc.).
-
Technical expertise in electrical circuits, computer architecture, real-time systems, microcontrollers, digital system design, and rapid prototyping.
-
Ability to effectively teach courses related to circuits, electrical machines, and embedded systems.
-
Eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
-
