The Division of Transplant Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) seeks an experienced research investigator with a track record in immunology research (preferably transplant immunology).

This position offers outstanding scholarly and scientific opportunity in a collegial and collaborative department as well as other related departments throughout Harvard Medical School. The division is looking for an innovative individual with expertise in the implementation and performance of advanced bench procedures, who will also be responsible for all laboratory operations including assuring best practices, supervision of lab staff, compliance, ordering, and animal protocol applications. Candidates will work with the PI to support ongoing research projects and will also be supported in advancing their own line of research and independent funding.

Successful candidates will be given a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School at either the Instructor or Assistant Professor level based on qualifying experience.

We welcome applications from highly motivated and independent-minded individuals. Candidates must have either a PhD, or MD, or equivalent graduate degree in immunology or a related field, have completed a postdoctoral fellowship, and have had experience in collaborative interdisciplinary research as evidenced by either publication record, research projects, or previous positions. Ideally, candidates will have previously published in peer-reviewed, high-ranking journals and have applied for funding. The candidate must also have effective communications skills and an aptitude for mentoring fellows, residents and students.
