We invite applicants for a PhD position in (1) integrative analysis of single cell transcriptomics and open chromatin data to dissect fibrosis on kidney diseases and (2) computational methods to dissect DNA methylation changes and their impact in regulatory features of cells upon aging in humans. The candidates will develop bioinformatic methods for (1) tracking temporal changes of single cells, to perform integrative analysis of scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq and/or spatial information and (2) associated DNA methtylation changes from whole genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) with chromatin, regulatory and transcriptional features of cells (ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, scATAC-seq and scRNA-seq). Projects will be performed in close collaboration with the clinical and molecular scientists and implemented within the DFG funded research consortias “Integrating emerging methods to advance translational kidney research (InteraKD) and “Genome Wide Analysis of Epigenetic Changes in Aging (GERAS)”.
