PhD positions in molecular, cellular, and systemic psychiatric research

The International Max Planck Research School for Translational Psychiatry (IMPRS-TP) is offering PhD positions in molecular, cellular, and systemic psychiatric research to outstanding students.

The IMPRS-TP Ph.D. program provides first-class training to internationally outstanding students who are passionate about psychiatric research. In addition to traditional Ph.D. positions, we offer a unique integrated Ph.D./residence program in psychiatry to exceptional medical doctors.

Please note that you need to have a

  • Master’s degree or equivalent (only in exceptional cases a 4-years Bachelor’s degree will be sufficient) in a relevant field, or
  • Medical Degree before starting the Ph.D. program.

Ph.D. research

In your application, you can select up to three research groups you are interested in. For details about research areas and participating research groups, please visit the Faculty page on our website.

Timeline of important dates

The application window for positions available for the IMPRS-TP traditional Ph.D. and the Residency/Ph.D. training program in the field of psychiatry and neuroscience will be opened on August 01, 2021, for a start in 2022.

All applications have to be submitted through the application portal.

Deadlines:

  • Application deadline: September 12, 2021 (12:00 – noon CET).
  • Deadline for references: October 15, 2021 (12:00 – noon CET).
  • Candidates will be notified in December 2021.
  • Interviews will be scheduled for February 2022.

Travel expenses and accommodation for the interview will be covered by IMPRS-TP, where applicable.
