Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University (FSMVU) is a newly created higher education institute which aims to be at the forefront of Turkish higher education and research. The university is subsidized by a very special charity (waqf), the charity Fatih Sultan Mehmet which was founded in 1470 to facilitate education and has continued to serve this purpose for more than five centuries.

The FSMVU was born from the historical tradition of waqf which has played an influential role in scientific, civic and cultural life throughout Ottoman history. Being privileged to have its origins in the secular civic and academic heritage, the FSMVU strives to perpetuate this tradition by combining traditional teaching and contemporary knowledge.

Program period
The duration of the graduate scholarships will be 1 year for language courses / preparatory courses, 2 years for master’s programs and 4 years for doctoral programs.
Eligibility conditions (criteria)
- Must be a foreign national
- Masters candidates must have an undergraduate degree, doctoral and skills and art candidates must have a master’s degree.
- Must not be a citizen of Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (or have a dual nationality right from either country or for those who had dual nationality but have abolished one or the other for not having completed all their secondary studies in Turkey or in the TRNC)
- Must not have been dismissed from a higher education institution in Turkey due to disciplinary measures despite compliance with all the other requirements mentioned above
- Students who are accepted with their diploma notes must maintain a minimum of 1.80 GPA for the duration of their scholarship. In the event that their GPA falls below 1.80, their scholarships will be downgraded to 50% and will remain so until the student improves their GPA to a minimum of 1.80.
- Students who apply to the FSMVU with scores on accepted national or international tests must achieve at least 70% success in these tests to be accepted for 100% scholarships.
- Students suspended due to disciplinary measures lose all scholarships indefinitely.
- The full scholarships provided by the Department of Science History depend on the success of the preparatory class in English.
- In the absence of 50% of the courses followed during a semester with a DZ gade, the scholarship will be reduced to 50%.
- Students enrolling in master’s programs must have a minimum undergraduate degree score of 60% .
• Students applying for doctoral programs must have a master’s degree score of at least 67% .
Note: Students who have Hafız certificates and choose the programs Islamic sciences , have a 100% tuition scholarship if they submit at the final registration.

- The scholarship does not cover the costs of the preparatory Turkish language courses (TÜMER).
Note: scholarships and discounts are granted only once. Students who cancel their scholarships or who unsubscribe from the university can no longer receive scholarships / discounts and will have to pay the tuition fees for the courses taken on the date they cancel their scholarship / discount.
