Postdoctoral Fellow – Hematopoietic Stem Cell Biology
A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Sandra Pinho at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). We are recruiting a motivated postdoctoral fellow with interest and expertise in any of the following areas: (1) Stem cells, (2) Hematopoiesis, (3) Megakaryopoiesis (4) Cancer, (5) Healthy and tumor bone marrow microenvironment, (6) Aging. The laboratory’s focus is to investigate the regulation and function of hematopoietic stem cell niches in aging and in cancer. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and should possess strong laboratory and analytical skills, and record of peer-reviewed publications. Applicants with prior experience in hematopoiesis and stem cell biology are particularly encouraged to apply, but we will also consider candidates with strong backgrounds in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cancer biology. The candidate should be willing to work with mouse models.
We are located in a vibrant area of Chicago, just west of the Loop and only minutes from downtown. The laboratory is in the Stem Cell Center which is part of the Department of Pharmacology & Regenerative Medicine (http://mcph.uic.edu/), a multidisciplinary research center within the College of Medicine with strengths in the broad areas of stem cells and regenerative medicine, cell signaling, cardiovascular and lung biology, and drug discovery, and is affiliated with University of Illinois Cancer Center (https://cancer.uillinois.edu/).
