Position Summary |
The Institute for the Study of Education, Democracy & Justice (EDJ) in The School of Education at William & Mary seeks a postdoctoral research fellow to provide research support for The Information Integrity Project (TIIP). The research fellow will work closely with The Institute for the Study of Education, Democracy & Justice’s founding Executive Director to develop a repository for historically accurate and fact-based information intended to instill trust in democratic processes and democratic institutions. In addition to working on EDJ’s Annual Report Card on the State of Public Education in Virginia, the postdoctoral research fellow will also have the opportunity to work with The Local Black Histories Project . In addition to this research role, the researcher will also have an opportunity to teach an undergraduate course on the Social, Philosophical, Cultural, and Historical Foundations of Education, and/or another course in their area of specialization. There is also the possibility to support travel to present at or attend an academic conference. This is a one-year, full-time appointment, with potential for renewal, contingent upon satisfactory performance. The fellow will be in residence at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. The position has an anticipated start date in Summer 2024. |
Required Qualifications | Applicants must possess a Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in Education or a related field by the time of appointment and have teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing, and data analysis skills are required. |
Preferred Qualifications | The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting independent research studies on unequal educational opportunities with a specific focus on the role of choice. The ideal candidate will have at least one first-authored article or chapter in a peer-reviewed publication and presented at a national conference in their respected research area. |
