La Faculté des sciences appliquées et de génie de l’Université de Toronto invite des universitaires exceptionnels à postuler pour un poste à temps plein dans le domaine de l’ingénierie mondiale au rang de professeur adjoint . La date cible de début de cette nomination est le 1er juillet 2022.

Nous encourageons fortement les approches innovantes, diverses et interdisciplinaires dans le domaine de la recherche en ingénierie qui répondent aux défis critiques auxquels sont confrontées les personnes les plus vulnérables du monde. Nous recherchons des candidatures de leaders émergents dont le travail fait avancer les objectifs de développement durable (ODD) des Nations Unies . La préférence sera donnée à ceux dont la recherche se situe dans les domaines stratégiques suivants :

  1. Technologies de l’information pour le développement mondial ;
  2. Sécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle ; ou
  3. Ingénierie et santé humaine.

Le candidat retenu sera titulaire d’un poste budgétaire conjoint entre le Centre for Global Engineering (CGEN) ( https://cgen.utoronto.ca ) dans le cadre de l’ Institute for Studies in Transdisciplinaire Engineering Education and Practice et l’une des unités académiques suivantes : Département de génie chimique et de chimie appliquée; Département de génie civil et minéral; Département de génie électrique et informatique; Département de science et génie des matériaux; Département de génie mécanique et industriel; Institut de génie biomédical ; Institut d’études aérospatiales.

Applicants must have a PhD related to Global Engineering or a relevant field by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. The selection will be based on an applicant’s demonstrated excellence in research and teaching, as well as the emerging global impact of their research program. The successful candidate is expected to pursue independent, innovative research at the highest international level, establish an externally funded research program, supervise graduate students, publish articles in internationally recognized top-tier journals in the related field, actively participate in CGEN’s events and activities, and to act as an ambassador for Global Engineering research.

Candidates must provide evidence of excellent research of an internationally competitive caliber, which can be demonstrated by publication in leading journals in the field, or a research pipeline that is at high international levels, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, accolades for creative work, and strong endorsements by referees of high standing. In addition, experience as a post-doctoral fellow or related industry experience is an asset.

Evidence of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, strong letters of reference and the teaching dossier (including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations, or other evidence of superior performance in teaching-related activities) submitted as part of the application. Other teaching-related activities can include performance as a teaching assistant or course instructor, experience leading successful workshops or seminars, student mentorship, or excellent conference presentations or posters. The Faculty is especially interested in individuals who can demonstrate a commitment to innovative undergraduate teaching and engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate program levels.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
