The Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute – (Leibniz-HKI, www.leibniz-hki.de) investigates the pathobiology of human-pathogenic fungi and identifies targets for the development of novel natural product-based antibiotics.

The department of Infection Immunology invites talented and highly gifted candidates to apply as

Bioinformatician / Computational Biologist / Systems Immunologist (f/div/m)

for 2 years initially with a possibility of extension to 5 years.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (or postgraduate degree MSc) in a computational discipline, preferably with significant experience in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology (R/Bioconductor and Python)
  • Experience with the analysis of mRNA transcriptomic data sets, preferably also with single-cell RNAseq data analysis pipelines
  • Experience in immunology is a plus
  • Ability to perform team-oriented as well as independent work
  • Good communication and writing skills in English are a must
