The School of Education in the Faculty of Education and Health at Laurentian University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant /Associate Professor with a specialization in Educational Foundations (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion). The candidate's qualifications, experience and overall market demand will determine a candidate’s final salary offer. The salary for this position includes a competitive salary range of $130,968 - $161,784. Qualified candidates will have a proven teaching record in a variety of accounting courses at both the undergraduate and graduate-level. The successful applicant will be expected to teach introductory, core, and advanced-level courses including the History of Anthropology. They will also have the opportunity to develop new courses in their field. A commitment to decolonial and anti-racist perspectives in the curriculum is a priority.

Our combined Sociology and Anthropology department hosts faculty who pursue diverse research and teaching interests but work collaboratively to ensure the success of both disciplines. In our department, we emphasize experiential learning, including international field schools, local field trips, as well as ethnographic and laboratory methods.

New faculty are hired into one of two work patterns. The teaching/ scholarship/ service pattern (TSS) focuses on teaching with the requirement that the faculty member be involved in a research program as well as service to the Mount Royal community. The successful candidate must have a PhD in the Earth Sciences and bring skills and experiences complementary to the Department. The candidate will have an established record of generating ore deposit research and funding, and a history of interaction with the mineral resource sector. The candidate's research should emphasize field work and relating geoscience observations to mineral systems models. Industry collaborative research should be complemented by excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm for teaching and enhancing student education. Candidates with a research focus in ore deposit geology and skill sets that pertain to critical minerals as defined by The Canadian Critical Minerals Strategy and/or precious metals will be given priority.

Research in the Department of Earth Sciences at Western falls into the broad themes of Earth and Planetary Systems; Resource Geoscience; Tectonic Processes and Crustal Dynamics; and Earth Evolution: Life, Climate and Environment. Cette dernière a pour but de favoriser l’orientation des jeunes filles vers les formations scientifiques et technologiques et les carrières d’ingénieures.

Ce prix co-créé par l’AUF et la CDEFI, récompensera une étudiante dont le parcours académique et les ambitions professionnelles constituent des exemples pour les plus jeunes générations. La lauréate recevra une récompense d’une valeur de 500 €. Le prix comprend également un séjour à Paris pour assister à la cérémonie de remise des prix.

L’objectif de cette démarche est de démontrer que l’ingénierie est accessible à toutes. Les élèves-ingénieures en formation au sein d’une école d’ingénieur·e·s membre de l’AUF dans les pays de l’Afrique du Nord sont invitées à présenter leur candidature.

The Department of Clinical Studies at the Ontario Veterinary College of the University of Guelph invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Large Animal Surgery.

Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree, must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the Province of Ontario, and must be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.   Possession of an advanced degree, graduate student/resident supervision and teaching experience are desirable. The ideal candidate should have strong skills in the clinical practice and teaching of large animal surgery and lameness, demonstrated research interest, and outstanding communication. An interest and capacity to promote the development of caseload, provide exceptional service to clients and referring veterinarians, and work with others in a strongly collegial team atmosphere is essential.

The successful candidate will work with a strongly collaborative team of three other large animal surgeons at Canada’s highest-ranked veterinary college to provide clinical, laboratory, and didactic instruction in large animal surgery to veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students. The College enjoys a busy caseload of ~1500 large animal referrals per year. The successful candidate will have most of their effort dedicated to professional client services and clinical teaching of students, interns, and residents for large animal surgery patients in the OVC Health Sciences Centre, including participation in out-of-hours emergency duty equitably with other section members. The remaining effort will be spent on scholarly activity, including independent or collaborative research, graduate student supervision, and service activities. Faculty have access to equine research funding through Equine Guelph and other granting agencies.

The OVC Large Animal Hospital caseload is primarily equine (90%) with some bovine, small ruminant, porcine and camelid patients.The Department of Clinical Studies and the OVC Health Sciences Centre (OVC HSC) have a full spectrum of board-certified specialists available for consultation and/or support, and the surgery service is supported by three to four surgery residents and seven rotating interns. The faculty and staff of the Department of Clinical Studies and the OVC-HSC are committed to delivering the very best of patient care. The OVC Health Sciences Center offers state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including but not limited to a 1.5 Tesla high field General Electric MRI, and conventional CT.

Les travaux de recherche de la personne retenue peuvent traiter de l’étude des femmes et des filles à l’intersection des dynamiques de pouvoir et des phénomènes de langage et de représentation. Ces phénomènes peuvent être examinés sous l’angle de la justice sociale et de la justice épistémique (par ex., quant aux défis d’équité, d’éducation ou d’inclusion), des questions identitaires (par ex., quant à la représentation de soi, aux relations interpersonnelles ou à l’agentivité), de la démographie (par ex., en rapport à l’emploi, aux mouvements migratoires en Francophonie ou aux défis environnementaux pour les populations) ou encore des discours et des aspects performatifs des productions linguistiques (par ex., quant aux nouveaux langages inclusifs ou aux représentations changeantes dans les littératures ou les médias).
