This year marks  200 years  of the Manchester Met.

As we enter our third century, we are excited to launch our “Third Century Scholarship Program.”

The fellowship is aimed at exceptional researchers, in the early stages of their postdoctoral career, who wish to distinguish themselves in the field of independent research. As an emerging research leader, you will have significant experience and a remarkable track record of research results in your research area.

What do we offer under the Third Century Scholarship Program?

By joining our Fellowship Program, you will play a leading role in our global research offering and join our community, working collaboratively in multidisciplinary and diverse teams with state-of-the-art facilities and working environment.

You will benefit from a three-year development program including:

  • Outstanding research environment and facilities to support   YOUR   ambitions/research

During the duration of the fellowship, you will publish excellent quality results internationally and seek external funding opportunities to realize your future research ambitions. You will also have the opportunity, if necessary, to prepare and deliver short courses.

The program begins with an initial appointment to a fixed-term research position with the strong expectation of transitioning to a permanent lecturer or reader position, after three years, based on your performance and potential as demonstrated. evaluated as part of the program.

The  Faculty of Science and Engineering  is one of the largest research-led technology education institutions in the UK, offering almost 100 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in a wide variety of subjects, distributed across five  university departments  . More than 5,500 students benefit from high-quality teaching, informed by a powerful combination of emerging industry knowledge and cutting-edge research.

Our academic community of approximately 350 colleagues shares world-class expertise with students, equipping them with in-demand analytical and problem-solving skills and preparing them for the world of work. With more than 9,000 students, the  Faculty of Arts and Humanities  supports a large and dynamic community, sparking curiosity, creativity and ambition. By combining the knowledge and expertise of more than 530 teachers, we foster a truly interdisciplinary approach to learning, which covers a unique and diverse range of subjects, from journalism to fashion to architecture, across 11 departments and schools.

The faculty’s academic staff conduct highly respected research nationally and internationally. REF 2021 ranked us 2nd in the UK for search power in art and design, and in the top ten for search power in English language and literature. The faculty is home to the Manchester School of Art, one of the oldest and largest providers of art and design courses in the UK, established over 180 years ago to provide design education to the manufacturing industry. The Manchester School of Architecture, an innovative collaboration between Manchester Met and the University of Manchester, is currently ranked 5th in the world.
