Job description
This is a full-time (100%) doctoral research position (maximum 4 years), under the Horizon Soil Missions project ‘Soil Biodiversity for Ecosystem Services’ (SOB4ES). Your research will investigate the interactions among citizen awareness and engagement on soil biodiversity issues, and EU policymaking processes on soil protection.
As a project researcher, you will be mostly engaged in research. Other project-related tasks include:
- Assisting with planned research outputs of the project, including organizing citizen participation processes and research workshops; and preparing reports, academic articles and policy briefs.
- Coordinating research team meetings, at both Ghent university and across the international project consortium.
- Managing the project, including timely planning for deliverables.
- Assist with reporting and communication with the project coordinators.
The start-date for this position is 11 September.
Job profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in political science, public administration, public policy, European studies.
- You have proven knowledge of issues around public policy on soil biodiversity, sustainability and ecosystem services.
- You have proven knowledge and interest in research on citizen engagement in policy processes.
- You have proven expertise in EU environment and biodiversity policy and governance.
- You have proven project management skills.
- You have excellent research and research management skills.
- You have excellent writing skills.
- You have excellent organizational skills.
- You have excellent presentation skills.
- You are a strong communicator and team player.
- Our working language is English, so excellent written and spoken English is essential.
