A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Petra Levin in the Department of Biology on the Danforth Campus at Washington University. The Levin lab studies the impact of the environment on bacterial growth, cell size, cell cycle progression and antibiotic resistance. This position will provide an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to perform studies on both non-pathogenic and pathogenic bacteria, develop skills in bacterial genetics and imaging, and answer fundamental questions in microbiology. Required Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in microbiology, immunology or related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, as evidenced by peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
