ANATOMIC PATHOLOGIST - The Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL) and the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology (VPB), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), Oklahoma State University (OSU) invite applications for a faculty position in anatomic pathology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and either tenure or clinical-track. You will be joining an energetic team of five anatomic pathologists who collectively provide diagnostic service at OADDL, teach in the professional curriculum, and engage research and other scholarly activities. Job assignments will be 85% diagnostic necropsy and biopsy service combined with teaching of 4th year veterinary students and training of residents; 10% administration as Pathology Services Section Head; and 5% scholarly activities. The percentages allotted to various job assignments are flexible, depending on the candidate’s background, experience, and professional interests. If interested, there are several opportunities for collaborative research or other scholarly activities. Areas of College research emphasis are infectious diseases, microbial pathogenesis, immunity, parasitology, toxicology, and cancer therapy. The College also hosts the National center for Veterinary Parasitology.

Required qualifications for this position include DVM or equivalent degree and ACVP certification or ACVP-eligibility.  A PhD degree is preferred, but not required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The candidate is expected to work independently without much reliance on the PI's hands-on guidance. Experience in method development and coding is preferred. The candidate is also expected to actively discuss research progress with the PI, attend conferences to present research, and write high-quality drafts of manuscripts. Other responsibilities include mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Dr. Liang earned his B.S. in Chemical Biology from Tsinghua University in 2011. In 2016, he received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago, where he was mentored by Prof. Gregory A. Voth, a renowned theorist in multiscale statistical mechanics and computational biophysics. His doctoral research was dedicated to developing and applying multiscale reactive molecular dynamics for studying proton transport in proteins. From 2016 to 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher under Prof. William H. Miller at the University of California, Berkeley, and Prof. Todd J. Martinez at Stanford University. His postdoctoral research focused on developing non-adiabatic dynamics methods for studying light-activated photoactive proteins and materials. Since September 2020, Dr. Liang has been a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University. His independent research focuses on multiscale simulations of biomolecular systems in areas such as photopharmacology, bioimaging, and biocatalysis. His lab has been honored with the prestigious MIRA (R35) award from the NIH and a highly competitive research grant from the Welch Foundation.

Merton College proposes to appoint a three-year, fixed-term early career researcher to the Peter J. Braam Early Career Research Fellowship in Global Wellbeing starting from October 2024 to January 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is available to a researcher at the early career stage and is intended to provide opportunity for the successful applicant to establish a research profile and to help prepare the postholder for an academic career.

The Peter J. Braam Early Career Researcher is expected to undertake a high-quality programme of original research in collaboration with other researchers, in a department within the University of Oxford. The College will consider applications from those working in the biological and medical sciences who have an interest in infectious disease, biodiversity and food security, as long as a genuine case is made as to how the proposed research contributes specifically to the advancement of Global Wellbeing.

Candidates should hold a recently completed doctorate or be close to completion of a doctorate and will have submitted their thesis no later than 3 months before the start date.  Those who formally submitted their doctoral thesis for viva voce examination before 1 October 2022 are not eligible, unless they have had a career break or if there are other exceptional circumstances. Those whose doctorate interrupted their professional training, should have completed their professional training since 1 October 2022.

Candidates must also have research expertise in their chosen field commensurate with the candidate’s career as demonstrated by a recently completed (or close to being completed) doctoral thesis and published or forthcoming original research articles in refereed journals (as relevant to the candidate’s field), or evidence of such future achievement. Evidence of active participation in the successful dissemination of research findings and a coherent plan of research for the duration of the appointment, and which is expected to make a valuable contribution to the candidate’s field, are also required.

  • demonstrated experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
  • sound experience of teaching and learning, and the ability to contribute to teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels in lecture, tutorial and practical settings.
  • a high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • a record of excellent teaching, learning, and assessment practice in a tertiary environment, as evidenced through student and supervisor feedback
  • high-level written and verbal communication skills
  • the capacity to engage students and enable a supportive, inclusive learning environment
  • proven experience in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
  • a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
  • the ability to work collaboratively with other staff, including professional staff, and foster principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Senior Lecturer, who, in addition to the above can demonstrate:

  • their knowledge and understanding of the key, strategic, education-related issues in the higher education sector and/or the University
  • experience as an effective unit, course or program coordinator or director (especially for large classes), as evidenced by student and staff feedback
  • some experience in people leadership within the higher education sector
  • significant capability in educational leadership, service, governance, and engagement (either through their work at a university or through association with a non-university organisation).

Associate Professor who, in addition to above, can demonstrate:

  • service, governance, and engagement through their prior work in university and/or complex non-university organisations
  • ability to attract nationally-competitive research funding, particularly from the Australian Research Council
  • leadership of curriculum development than enhances student learning in the discipline curriculum
  • their ability to obtain competitive grant funding for their education scholarship
  • leadership within the higher education sector, including demonstrated success in supervising and/or mentoring others (including honours students) to achieve career progression or professional advancement
  • established relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners, and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of education in the discipline, School, Faculty and University.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The primary purpose of the Psychology and Neuroscience Department is to provide excellent education, research and service in the field. This goal breaks down into four important components: 1) to teach psychology and neuroscience to undergraduates in a manner that will introduce them vigorously to its broad scope; 2) to offer scientific and professional training to graduate students in the areas of behavioral and integrative neuroscience, clinical, cognitive, developmental, quantitative, and social psychology; 3) to carry out cutting-edge research in these areas, and 4) to provide consulting and administrative support services to the science and profession of psychology as well as to the university, the community, the state, and the nation. The Department consists of six programs: behavioral and integrative neuroscience; clinical psychology; cognitive psychology; developmental psychology; quantitative psychology, and social psychology. Each program is designed to acquaint the student thoroughly with the theoretical and research content of the specialty and to provide training in the research skills needed to become a competent and creative investigator. In addition, the programs focus on the development of appropriate professional skills. The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience ranks 2nd in the College in grant funding with over $12 million annually in grant expenditures and approximately $20 million annually in expenditures from all funds. The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience has the largest undergraduate major in the College of Arts and Sciences with approximately 1500 majors, and one of the largest graduate Ph.D. programs with approximately 120 graduate students. The Department is also home to four community clinics which generate fee revenue (Adult Clinic, Anxiety Clinic, Child and Family Clinic, Couples Clinic), known collectively as the UNC Psychology and Neuroscience Community Clinic (the Clinic).
Position Summary The person in this position will assist in research activities for studies examining biobehavioral and psychological responses to social media content. The responsibilities include participant recruitment, data collection, data management, IRB preparation and submission, assistance with undergraduate research assistants, and managing study protocols. This individual is responsible for helping the PIs with projects and conducting research following established procedures. Basic computer skills are required, including familiarity with OSX and Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and basic statistical knowledge. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. The research assistant will ensure the studies’ compliance with protocols and objectives.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience - Strong organizational and project management skills - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Familiarity with research methodologies and protocols. - Strong Attention to detail - Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS). - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Strong problem-solving - Critical thinking skills - Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Des bourses pour les étudiants méritants

Conformément à l’article 2 de ses statuts et en mémoire des époux Chomé-Bastian, la Fondation a créé en 2004 une bourse destinée à encourager et à soutenir financièrement des étudiants ne disposant que de faibles revenus et qui veulent poursuivre des études supérieures.

La Fondation Félix Chomé attribue chaque année un certain nombre de bourses – jusqu’au diplôme de Master inclus – à des étudiant(e)s méritant(e)s et à revenu modeste, détenteurs d’un diplôme de fin d’études secondaires (classiques ou générales/techniques – délivré et signé par le Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale luxembourgeois), qui poursuivent des études supérieures au Luxembourg ou à l’étranger. Le montant de la bourse versé une fois par an se situe en général entre 500€ et 3000€, montant qui dépend de la situation familiale et financière, ainsi que des résultats scolaires et/ou universitaires du candidat.

Outre les critères de revenus et de résultats, la Commission des Bourses tient compte de la qualité de la présentation globale de la demande, de la situation familiale, du parcours scolaire et/ou universitaire et des explications détaillées concernant, d’une part, les études poursuivies et, d’autre part, les causes des échecs scolaires / universitaires éventuels. C'est la demande dans son ensemble qui est importante – y compris la lettre de motivation, en expliquant clairement quelles études seront poursuivies.

Les demandes de bourse sont à renouveler pour chaque nouvelle année académique. Ceci a pour conséquence que l’attribution d’une bourse une année, n’implique pas que la bourse sera automatiquement octroyée les années d’après! Si une bourse est refusée une année, l’étudiant(e) a le droit de refaire une demande l’année d’après.

Demande Électronique

La demande de bourse (pour l'année académique 2024-2025) est à effectuer électroniquement via le site bourse.fchome.lu entre le 1er février et le 31 mars (dernier délai!) 2024. Cela se fait en plusieures étapes:
  1. si ce n'est pas encore fait, c'est-à-dire pour les nouveaux demandeurs, s'inscrire dans le système (⊳ cliquez ici) Important:
    • ne pas se réinscrire si vous avez déjà un compte
    • mettez vos données personnelles à jour, ainsi que votre parcours scolaire/universitaire
  2. déposer sa demande électroniquement après login/connexion via le système (⊳ cliquez ici)
  3. si des documents manquent ou sont erronés, la commission marque - dans la mesure du possible et si les délais le permettent - le statut de la demande comme Demande incomplète, afin de permettre l'ajout ou la modification de documents
  4. la demande est ensuite évaluée par la commission, qui décide d'accorder on non une bourse; la réponse est envoyée par courrier postal entre la mi-mai et la fin-juin
  5. si une bourse est accordée, il faut ajouter (avant la mi octobre) la preuve de réussite de 2023-2024 (diplôme, résultats, etc.) et le certificat d'inscription pour l'année académique 2024-2025

Le paiement est soumis à une évaluation des performances et peut être refusé, par exemple en cas de mauvaise conduite académique, de mauvais résultats ou d'abandon du programme de Master. Si un étudiant sélectionné ne nécessite pas de logement en résidence universitaire, un Prix/UT de 5 400 € sera remis au même étudiant à la fin de chacune des deux années de master. Les modalités détaillées sont définies dans un accord signé entre le lauréat, l'Université du Luxembourg et Ferrero lors de la sélection des candidats retenus.

  • Critère d'éligibilité

    La bourse Ferrero est ouverte aux étudiants des programmes de Master suivants :
    • Master en Comptabilité et Audit
    • Master en Entrepreneuriat et Innovation
    • Master en droit européen
    • Master en Finance et Economie
    Les candidats doivent être inscrits en première année de l'un de ces programmes de master au moment de postuler à la bourse.
  • Procédure de demande

    Tous les candidats doivent soumettre un dossier de candidature à  ferrerofellowship@uni.lu  comprenant :
    • Déclaration personnelle/lettre de motivation
    • CV
    • Dossier académique (simples copies des diplômes de premier cycle ou autres certificats d'études)
    Les candidatures pour l’année 2023-2024 ouvriront fin septembre et se clôtureront le 15 octobre 2023 (minuit).
  • Procédure de sélection

    Les candidats présélectionnés sont invités à un entretien avec un comité de sélection Ferrero. De plus, leurs candidatures seront évaluées par les directeurs de programme des programmes de Master respectifs. Les lauréats sont choisis en fonction de :
    • Réussite académique
    • Engagement civique, travail bénévole ou autres activités parascolaires
    • Originalité de la déclaration personnelle et motivation pour postuler
    • Compétences linguistiques (l'anglais est obligatoire, toute langue supplémentaire est un atout)
  • Stage

    Au cours de leur deuxième année d'études , les lauréats de la bourse auront la possibilité d'effectuer un stage au siège de Ferrero à Luxembourg. Les stages seront attribués en accord avec l'entreprise d'accueil et feront l'objet d'un contrat de stage.

    Le siège social de Ferrero au Luxembourg abrite de nombreuses fonctions commerciales de l'entreprise et des efforts raisonnables seront déployés pour attribuer des stages en fonction des intérêts professionnels et des ambitions des lauréats de la bourse.

    Le semestre de stage ne sera pas couvert par l'allocation mais payé selon le règlement des stages de la Bâloise.

    • inscrit au troisième semestre du Bachelor en Gestion Appliquée ou au quatrième semestre du Bachelor en Economie
    • non inscrit dans un programme ultérieur de licence ou de master,

    • résidant au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg ou dans la Grande Région du Luxembourg,
    • le revenu familial des candidats ne peut excéder le triple du revenu minimum luxembourgeois.
  • Procédure de demande

    Les candidats sont invités à soumettre les documents suivants (en anglais, français ou allemand) :
    • une lettre de motivation indiquant quel département de la Bâloise le candidat souhaite rejoindre pendant le stage,
    • un curriculum vitae, comprenant des copies de leurs diplômes, certificats et suppléments officiels à ceux-ci,
    • une justification des revenus de leurs parents confirmée par la présentation d'une copie de la déclaration fiscale des revenus de l'année précédente,
    • leur situation familiale,
    • un justificatif de résidence au Luxembourg ou dans la Grande Région du Luxembourg,
    • une attestation d'inscription à l'Université du Luxembourg (en cas de sélection, l'étudiant devra remettre une telle attestation d'inscription à la Baloise chaque semestre). 
    La date limite de candidature est  le 26 mars 2023  à 23h59. Les candidatures doivent être soumises à  baloisefellowship@uni.lu
  • Procédure et critères de sélection

    • performance académique,
    • effort général et progrès de l'étudiant dans ses performances académiques,
    • l'éthique et la motivation du candidat.

    Un comité de sélection composé du responsable des ressources humaines et d'un autre responsable de la Bâloise (Opérations ou Corporate Governance) évaluera les candidatures sur la base des critères de sélection énumérés ci-dessus.

    La direction de Baloise Assurances Luxembourg SA et de Baloise Vie Luxembourg SA validera ensuite la sélection finale des boursiers.

  • Procédure de sélection

    L'Université, en collaboration avec la Fondation ATOZ sous l'égide de la Fondation de Luxembourg , sélectionnera les étudiants boursiers et financera leurs bourses.

    Le comité de sélection, composé de. Le professeur Werner Haslehner (Université du Luxembourg) et les membres du comité de direction de la Fondation ATOZ examineront la lettre de motivation de chaque candidat, ainsi que l'impression générale des candidats et de leurs besoins financiers.

    Attention, les dossiers incomplets seront immédiatement rejetés. Aucun recours n'est possible contre les décisions. En postulant au programme de bourses, le candidat accepte ce règlement dans son intégralité. 

    Pour que les étudiants sélectionnés puissent bénéficier du programme de bourses, ils devront signer une « convention de bourse » distincte.
