The research group of prof. Sofer based at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of UCT Prague is keen to welcome highly motivated, talented postdocs seeking to conduct cutting-edge research in the field of 2D materials via the prestigeous MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship funded by the European Commission.

Choose UCT Prague to boost your chances

Thanks to additional sources of funding available in the Czech Republic, 64%  of UCT Prague proposals received funding in 2022 and 2023. UCT Prague provides comprehensive support and training to applicants every year and regularly secures funding from all the available sources: i) MSCA PF, ii) ERA Fellowships available to the Czech Republic as one of the Widening Countries of Horizon Europe and iii) national ESIF Programme (for proposals scoring above the passmark of 70%).

UCT Prague is one of the largest higher education institutions in Central Europe devoted to teaching and cutting-edge research in a wide range of chemistry areas. The Sofer group (www.sofergroup.cz) focuses on layered 2D materials including graphene and other monoelemental 2D materials (silicene, germanene, phosphorene, metal chalcogenides, halides, Mxenes) and on their use in wide range of applications including energy storage and conversion, electrochemistry, electronics, optoelectronics and sensors. The team, currently bringing together 35 researchers of diverse origins, is actively engaged in collaborations all over the world and successful in attracting national and international grants.
