Job Description:
A non-tenure-track Research Assistant Professor position is available in the Department of Neurology and within the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease in the College of Medicine to develop and lead a line of research investigating the underlying cell biology and pathobiology of Parkinson’s disease. Successful candidates are expected to develop an independent interdisciplinary research program in collaboration with other department faculty as well as to mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead independent research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
- Investigate, create and develop new methods and technologies for research advancement
- Contribute to scientific literature, reports, journals and presentations
- Train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Secure project-focused funding

Expected Salary:
Negotiable based on education and experience
Minimum Requirements:
We welcome applications from individuals with strong research backgrounds who hold a doctorate in biological sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry or closely related field and must have a minimum of three-years postgraduate research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience using biochemical and advanced tissue culture systems particularly with primary neurons/glia and/or stem cells
- Experience working with mouse models
- Experience working with proteomics systems and high content imaging is a plus
