University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of an assistant professor at the Department of Criminal Procedure, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics

The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Requirements

  1. The PhD Diploma.
  2. A good command of English is required to prepare and conduct classes in that language. In case of a foreign language applicant fluency in Polish is required.
  3. Command of legal French.
  4. Research interests, expressed in scientific publications and conference speeches, focusing on: Polish model of criminal process, including negotiated justice mechanisms, criminal proceedings’ objectives, law of evidence.
  5. Experience in teaching Criminal Procedure and European criminal procedure, also in English.
  6. Experience as a member of the research team or the principal investigator in national and international research projects.
  7. Statement on taking research activity only in the field of Legal Sciences (on representing only Legal Sciences discipline in 100%).

Responsibilities

  1. Conducting scientific research in the area of criminal law.
  2. Preparation of scientific publications.
  3. Participation as a lecturer at the national and international scientific conferences (a presentation and popularization of the research conducted by the candidate).
  4. Teaching courses in Polish and English.
  5. Participation in the preparation of conferences organized or co-organized by the Department of Criminal Proceedings.

  6. A summary of scientific and educational accomplishments as well as others, connected with organization and popularization of science.
  7. A list of scientific publications from a period no longer than 10 years, description of educational accomplishments as well as others, connected with organization and popularization of science.
  8. Electronic versions of two most important publications (or unpublished papers) which the candidate deems representative for their scientific achievements.
  9. An application for employment addressed to the Rector.
  10. A statement in connection with Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. The Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
  11. Two letters of reference which should be sent directly by the authors without intermediation of the applicant to the President of the Selection Board (mail: andrzej.bator@uwr.edu.pl); these letters are only available to the members of the Selection Board and the candidate waives the right to get acquainted with their contents

  3. Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of recruitment to work at the University of Wrocław.   5. Your data will be stored for the duration of the recruitment process, not longer than 12 months from the date of your application.
  6. You have the right to:
    – withdraw consent to the processing of personal data, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal;
    – request the Controller to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, data portability;
