AD ASTRA FELLOWS, UCD SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES, CULTURES AND LINGUISTICS

Applications are invited for Ad Astra Fellowships within the UCD School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics. Candidates must have a PhD in one of the Subject Areas taught within the School (French; German; Italian; Linguistics;  Portuguese; Spanish). Preference may be given to candidates working in School fields that are new or expanding. A university teaching qualification or demonstrable engagement with continuous professional development in pedagogy and pedagogic innovation is welcome. Candidates with demonstrable EDI awareness are particularly encouraged to apply.

The School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics is home to colleagues researching in Linguistics and in Modern Languages (French; German; Italian; Portuguese; Spanish). School colleagues’ research interests span a broad range of areas including among others, literature, visual culture, history of ideas, civilisation, linguistics, applied language studies, history, culture, politics and society.  The School hosts postdoc colleagues, welcomes PhD students and offers three separate MA programmes: MA in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics; MA in Modern Languages; and MA in Languages and Image Studies. SLCL has been awarded the Athena Swan Bronze Medal and is currently working towards its renewal.

95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale:  €58,206 – €92,172 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
