The Machine Learning research group at the Aeronautics Institute of Technology in Brazil opens up to 2 (two) post-doctoral positions in a project titled “Beyond Algorithm Selection: Meta-Learning for Analysis and Understanding of Data and Algorithms” and funded by FAPESP, the São Paulo Research Foundation (grant number 2021/06870-3).
The project’s objective is to study and propose strategies to extract knowledge of the relationship between meta-features of one or more datasets and the algorithmic performance of Machine Learning (ML) techniques. This knowledge will be used to evaluate and identify data quality issues and characterize the strengths and weaknesses of ML algorithms. Such knowledge will then be used to mitigate data quality issues and derive new ML solutions.
Requirements: Candidates must have some experience with Python or R languages. Knowledge of machine learning is also desirable. Candidates must have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Academic performance in undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies must be highlighted without failures.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. Each selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
