Eligibility The candidate must: 

  • To be recognized for its scientific excellence by the international scientific community.
  •  Actively participate in scientific research
  • Work in any field of life and environmental sciences or physical, mathematical and computer sciences.
Terms & Conditions An application is only considered complete if it includes all of the following documents:

  1. – A brief explanation of the reasons why the nominator considers the candidate to be eligible for the L’Oréal-UNESCO International Awards for Women in Science (200 to 400 words). 
  2. A quotation proposal for the general public if the candidate is selected.
    • It should be a concise statement (maximum 40 words) describing the main technical or professional achievement for which the candidate deserves the award.
    • Note that  the Jury will approve the final official declarations of the Laureates.
  3.  A detailed Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 to 3 pages).
  4. The applicant must include in the CV (or in the list of publications) any reference to scientific social networks and / or the applicant’s websites (such as ResearchGate, ORCID, personal website).
  5. A list of all of the candidate’s publications. 
  6. A list of the most important patents starting with the most recent.
  7. C1 Internal use
  8. A list of the 10 most significant publications in order of importance with: a brief summary explaining their meaning and why they are so relevant according to the applicant (less than 150 words per publication); the number of citations for each article excluding automatic citations, and the impact factor of each journal, if applicable.
    • Please add a link to access all publications mentioned in the list.
  9. If for some publications related links are not available, please download them in pdf, if possible, or at least provide detailed article references, including all authors.
  10. Three to five letters of recommendation from eminent scientists outside of the applicant’s home institution.
